The monitor screen can be configured to display a grid that helps when composing images.
The recording mode, exposure compensation level, white balance, ISO sensitivity, self-timer, and other settings can be assigned to the controller buttons. After that, the assigned setting can be changed by operating the controller button.
A selection of five preset sounds can be used to assign different tones for the startup and shutter release operations. The volume of the sounds can also be set to a level ranging from 0 through 7.
On-screen messages can be displayed in English, French, Spanish, German, Italian, Portuguese, Japanese, Traditional Character Chinese, Simplex Character Chinese, or Hangul.
A simple camera operation transfers images between a memory card (SD memory card, MMC card) and the camera's built-in Flash memory.
Images can be stored on a SD Memory Card or on an MultiMedia Card. The EXILIM also has flash memory built-in, so you can even store images without using a memory card.
Clear, realistic images let you capture all of the action of sports and other fast-paced events.(320x240 pixels, Up to 60 seconds)
* EX-S20U/EX-M20U marketed in North America do not include the Movie Mode.
An on-screen histogram can be used to check the exposure of an image before you record it. The shape of the histogram graph provides you with important feedback about the relative brightness of the image.
A histogram that is lopsided to the left indicates underexposure, while right-side lopsidedness indicates overexposure. Optimal exposure is indicated when the histogram is in the center.
The trimming feature makes it possible to trim away parts of an image you do not need. Simply record the image you want and you can crop it later.
Triple Self-timer automatically records three consecutive images when the end of the countdown is reached. Then you can check the recorded images and keep the best one.
World Time is convenient for international travel. Simply select one of the 162 cities (32 time zones) and you can keep track of the current time in your home time zone and other time zone.
The camera can be configured to display a specific image when a preset alarm time is reached. With the EX-M20, an alarm tone also sounds from the built-in speaker.
Images in the FAVORITE folder are not displayed during the normal image playback operation, so personal images remain private. The FAVORITE folder is stored in built-in memory, so it is not deleted when you change to another memory card.
The rotate feature lets you rotate images at 90-degree increments, while flip instantly flips an image on a horizontal axis.
Image Roulette scrolls through images at high speed, before stopping at a particular image. It can be used for fortunetelling, entertainment, etc.
The camera can be configured so it automatically displays a particular image whenever it is turned on. The opening screen image can be any snapshot or movie up to two seconds long.
Snapshots can be resized to small size. The resized version of the image is saved as a new file.
*1,280 x 960 pixels (SXGA), 640 x 480 pixels (VGA)
The camera generates files that can be used to display images in album format on a webpage. Since album files use HTML format, you can publish them as-is on a website.
