7-point Multi AF means you never need to worry about focusing again. The camera automatically selects one of seven focus points, based on which one is aligned with the nearest subject, and focuses on that point. This helps to avoid loss of foreground subjects, and minimizes the chance of images being out of focus. The Macro Mode of the EX-Z4 lets you move in to distances ranging from 50 cm to as close as 6 cm for really intimate close ups of everything from portraits to flowers, pets, food, and more. The Macro Mode also supports zooming in the range of 1X to 1.8X. Pan Focus makes it possible to record an image virtually the moment you press the shutter release button. It helps to ensure that you are able to capture exactly the moment you want. An on-screen histogram can be used to check the exposure of an image before you record it. The shape of the histogram graph provides you with important feedback about the relative brightness of the image. Adjust exposure with the control button A histogram that is lopsided to the left indicates underexposure, while right-side lopsidedness indicates overexposure. Optimal exposure is indicated when the histogram is in the center. Simply select the Best Shot scene that resembles the type of image you want to record and Best Shot automatically configures the required camera settings. An original noise reduction process produces clearer night scene images. On-screen guidance Entering the Best Shot Mode displays an image of the currently selected Best Shot sample scene for about two seconds. This setup enhances flesh tones for beautiful portraits. Zoom can be used to blur the background and make the foreground subjects stand out. Coupling Shot combines two images into one, making it just the thing for traveling. Now you and your companion can appear in the same image, even when no one else is around. A slow shutter speed and new noise reduction algorithm combine to produce striking images of nighttime illumination. A slow shutter speed and infinity focus brings out the beautiful color of the fireworks on the dark sky in the background.
