They required to use the ECR or PC POS which can handle the shared check tracking system with guest receipt using bill printer. Main competitor was PC POS with the customized front office software.
The software development of shared check tracking by the PC-POS system is very difficult and needs a lot of investment to develop the software in case it is developed by the same level with cash register. Because PC OS does not consider the recovery system and the data loss from power failure carefully.
PC-POS generally needs a PC server terminal controlling the shared check tracking and a UPS unit per one PC to prevent the data loss from the power failure.
