Digital technology that outperforms optical. New engine for high-speed functions and high-speed image processing.
A reconfigurable processor delivers a multi-CPU configuration that creates two image processing paths, along with the latest high performance functions and high-speed processing. Speed that enables an interval between shots that minimizes at 0.37 seconds, the ability to shoot bursts of images while recording a movie, and more.
Capture the beauty and detail of dark scenes.
The light receiving surface of the sensor is moved to the front for more efficient use of incident light and improved sensitivity, along with less digital noise. Night scenes and dark rooms come out clear, soft, and beautiful.
A revolutionary new form that enables
a free and flexible approach to photo-taking.
A new style in digital imaging uses a rotating LCD and frame configuration. This enables shooting with never-before-possible angles and techniques for a new dimension of freedom and versatility.
3.0-inch high-definition touch panel LCD
Easy touch operation for shooting and viewing.
Simply touch a subject on the screen to shoot it in an instant.
Simple user-friendly touch operations for menu selections and playback as well.
HDR
Captures both gradations and subjects in a single image with a naturalness approaching that seen by the human eye.
HDR achieves extraordinary high dynamic range reproduction through high-speed integration of consecutive images shot at different exposures. Even when the subject is moving, the camera selects only the most suitable portions of each image for merging automatically and processes them into composite images.
HDR-ART
An HDR-ART feature combines different parts of a burst of images shot with different exposures into a final image and performs high-precision image analysis to produce final images that are true works of art. All this and much more makes it possible for just about anyone to create images that are absolutely amazing.
Multi Frame SR Zoom without loss of detailed quality.
Multi-frame super-resolution is used to combine a burst of images in a way that makes it possible to achieve a maximum of 2X zoom, without loss of details, using a 21mm wide angle.
Simpler operation, more beautiful images. Premium Auto shoots even difficult scenes with the touch of the shutter button.
The camera is design to automatically detect and analyze conditions for night scenes, back lighting, sky, greenery, twilight, the presence of human faces, subject movement, subject positions, whether or not the camera is on a tripod, and more. It then simultaneously applies optimal settings for exposure, ISO sensitivity, focus positions, anti-shake, gradation, color balance, noise reduction level, and more. Premium Auto is a fully automated function that performs pixel-level analysis of each image, performs different compensation processes for subjects and backgrounds, and applies other high level photographic techniques each time you press the shutter button.
